Wake JCPC Committees


Community Relations/Strategic Partnerships Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to work in partnership with the community in order to achieve the JCPC mission of preventing juvenile crime. The Committee's work focuses on developing and sharing information with the community, and collaborating with other groups and organizations in the county in order to achieve JCPC's mission. Activities include holding community forums; meeting with groups to discuss common goals and develop ideas/plans for collaboration; addressing diversity issues in the community; developing vehicles for communicating with the community, such as brochures, a website, and a Speakers Bureau; and producing the JCPC's Annual Report Card to the community on the progress being made toward achieving its major goal of reducing juvenile crime.

 

Accountability and Operations Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to set the major goal that the JCPC is striving to achieve in reducing juvenile crime in Wake County. The responsibilities of this Committee include the nominations process for JCPC members, Board development, annual internal assessment of the JCPC‘s effectiveness, by-laws review, submission of the Annual Comprehensive Plan to the NC Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, ongoing leadership and monitoring of the JCPC Strategic Plan, and accountability to the community. This Committee will consist of the Chair, Vice-Chair, Chairs of the Community Relations/Strategic Partnerships Committee and Program Review Committee, representatives of the Goals/Accountability Workgroup, and other Council members that want to volunteer.

 

Program Review Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to review and monitor JCPC-funded programs in order to help ensure quality and program accountability. This Committee also helps non-funded programs connect to the collaborative mission of JCPC to reduce juvenile crime. Activities include providing information and referrals to agencies for strengthening their programs, and working closely with the Operations Director in developing the Request for Proposals (RFP), establishing criteria for rating the proposals, and facilitating the funding allocation process.
